This year, Red Bandanna Pet Food is bringing back the Angel Tree bigger and better than ever. The Angel Tree is a “wish list” of items local rescue pets need this season.
The rescues sponsored by Red Bandanna generally use the Angel Tree donations to get through the first couple of months of the new year, when monetary donations tend to drop off. Rescues wish for everything from food and treats to toys and shampoo.
According to Dylan Yellowlees, Social Media and Graphics Manager for Red Bandanna, “This year’s Angel Tree will work just like it has in the past. Customers just pick an Angel while doing their regular shopping and buy what that pet is wishing for this holiday season. We collect the gifts and present them to the rescues at the end of December.”
Last year, Angel Tree brought in over $5,000 worth of products to four local rescues. This year, Red Bandanna is sponsoring six Atlanta-area rescues: Adopt a Golden, Boston Terrier Rescue of East TN (in Georgia), Good Mews of Marietta, Mutt Maddness, Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption, Inc. and You Lucky Dog.
All 14 Red Bandanna stores across Atlanta (Alpharetta, Atlanta, Buckhead, Buford, Canton, Marietta, Milton, Norcross, Roswell and Suwanee) participate in Angel Tree, and each rescue is represented at every store.
“The Angel Tree donations run through Christmas, generally, but we always get a little afterwards too," Yellowlees said. "Then the rescues come pick up the donations at our warehouse. Many of the rescue folks send us pictures with the pets receiving their goods, and it makes the holidays so special for us.”
