Athletic Hall of Fame, Modern Millie

Here's what you need to know before you leave home Friday, Sept. 16.

 

1. Today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 73 and east winds between 10 and 15 mph, the National Weather Service says.

2. The Captain John Collins Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be presenting a framed copy of the Declaration of Independence to the Marietta Parks and Recreation Department at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall.

3. Marietta High School hosts the eighth annual Marietta Athletic Hall of Fame luncheon at noon in the Marietta High School seminar room. Inductees will also be recognized at the Blue Devils football game against Alpharetta at Northcutt Stadium.

4. "Thoroughly Modern Millie" starts at the Strand at 8 p.m. The show will run through Oct. 2.

5. Community Development will give a guided tour of Cobb County's Historic places and how they are preserved from the East Cobb Senior Center, 3332 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta. Call 770-509-4900 for information.
