Atlanta Police to Recuit Officers

The Georgia Department of Labor will help the Atlanta Police Department recruit a number of officers Monday, Oct. 29, in Marietta.

 

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help the Atlanta Police Department recruit a number of officers Monday, Oct. 29.

The recruitment and information session will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta.

Applicants must be at least 20 years old, have a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED), and be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license. While no prior experience is necessary, applicants must pass a cognitive skills examination and personality assessment.

Visual ability cannot be less than 20/100 in each eye uncorrected and must be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or contact lenses.  A medical examination is required upon offer of employment, and they must be able to pass physical training tests.

Applicants are encouraged to dress properly to increase their chances of employment and be prepared to complete various forms.

Beginning salaries for police recruits is $34,726.36 per year. Post recruit pay ranges from $39,327.36 to $57, 417.11, based on education.
