Candy Shop Opens on Marietta Square

Ye Olde Christmas and Candy Shoppe opened Saturday after a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Steve Tumlin.

The spirit of Christmas and nostalgic candy treats can be found on Marietta Square all year long. The Ye Olde Christmas and Candy Shoppe opened Saturday at 87 Church St.

"I've always had a dream of opening my own store, but I thought it would be way in the future. But I just had this epiphany one day and said, 'This is what I want to be doing, and this is what I'm going to do,' " owner Dianne Murphy said.

Mayor Steve Tumlin was present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The store is closed Mondays. The hours the rest of the week:

  • Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
