City Council, Community Connections

Here's what you need to know before leaving home in Marietta Tuesday, Sept. 27.

 

1. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with a high near 81, the National Weather Service says.

2. Marietta City Council will meet for special-called committee meetings and an agenda work session at 5:15 p.m. on the lobby level of City Hall.

3. A preview of "Ghost Writer" will play at Theatre in the Square at 8 p.m. at half-price.

4. Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck will host “Community Connections” at 7 p.m. The event at Building 2800 of Las Colinas Apartments located at 861 Franklin Rd. is free and open to the public.

“Community Connections” will educate attendees about the proposed Marietta High School auditorium construction and the 2012 general obligation bond referendum for the project.

5. Students 18 and under will be admitted free to the North Georgia State Fair. Pay $18 for unlimited rides.
