Coach Arrested, Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor

A Marietta coach/trainer was arrested for multiple sexual assaults against a minor at his office at the Champion Softball Complex over a two-year time frame.

Isuru Pasan Perera, 31, of Marietta was arrested for multiple sexual offenses against a minor.

Perera was taken into custody without incident on Saturday, Sept. 8, and is being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail, according to Marietta Police.

The original incident occurred in June of 2010 when the female juvenile victim attended the Champion Softball Complex located at 505 Commerce Park Drive, according to Marietta Police.

Perera, who was the victim’s coach/trainer, used his position to "coerce and intimidate the victim to commit multiple sexual acts against her," Police said. Numerous sexual assaults occurred over a two-year time frame. Every assault occurred in Perera’s office at the complex, Police said.

Perera is being charged with cruelty to children (1st degree), aggravated sodomy, sexual battery, aggravated sexual battery, computer pornography and distribution of obscene material.

The Marietta Police Department is concerned there may be other unreported victims of Perera and wants anyone with information to contact Detective Moeller at 770-794-2366.

I will ask the first question - why did it take so long for this guy to be arrested? If, in fact, he is guilty. And after seeing many cases where a student or child has accused an adult of something and then finding out they lied, I will withhold judgment on this case.

Now this lets me know that immigrants applying for residency and citizenship need to be given a crash course on child abuse and exploitation by INS before receiving legal status. That is one of the problems of child exploitation in this country; governments lack of education the populace.

Billions of tax dollars wasted on Planned Parenthood and Abortion Federation who pushes sex education and condoms in public schools but yet no money being spent on education students and staff members about child exploitation. No more asking what is this country coming too? It is already there. No freedom, no rights to persue happiness no honor or integrity anymore. Just a bunch of misguided people who know more about celebrities than candidates for public offices. Sports is more important than raising a family under traditional morals and values. Everybody worried more about making money instead of hitting the streets in protest against tyranny. The people are scared of the government so the government continues to send US further to a civil revolution because it is ran by lawyers. Brittish Accredited Association is what BAR Association means now you really know who is running this country.
