Country, Comedy, a Musical

Here's what you need to know before leaving home in Marietta Thursday, Sept. 22.

1. Expect rain, clouds and heat on the last day of summer, the National Weather Service says. There’s a 70 percent chance of rain, lingering all day and night. The high will be about 80, and the overnight low will be around 65.

2. The North Georgia State Fair opens today at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta with the North Georgia State Fair Beauty Pageant and runs through Oct. 2.

3. Join Sonya Shell for an afternoon of country music in Glover Park at noon, part of the Brown Bag Concert Series.

4. The musical "Thoroughly Modern Millie" is playing at the Strand Theatre at 8 p.m.
