Dare to Hope Gingerbread JAM

The Atlanta-based charity Dare to Hope has opened registration for its gingerbread competition in Marietta.

The Ainsley Paige Higgins’ Dare to Hope Foundation, Inc. presents Gingerbread JAM 2011, an event benefiting children with critical, rare and complex medical conditions at the Mansour Center on Dec. 10 from noon to 8 p.m.

Gingerbread JAM features an amateur gingerbread competition, local arts and crafts market, food and holiday festivities. The top prize for the adult competition is $200 and $75 for the youth category.

The Dare to Hope Foundation is currently seeking gingerbread competition entrants for the event. Pre-registration for the gingerbread competition is going on now with entry prices $5 to $10. Visit www.gingerbreadjam.com for full details. Email info@gingerbreadjam.com with questions on how to participate in this event.

Event tickets are a $5 donation for ages 13 and up. Children under 12 years old are free.

The Dare to Hope Foundation was founded in June 2010 by Lisa Higgins and Gina Gareau-Clark, two mothers of children diagnosed with mitochondrial disease, a life-threatening metabolic disorder. Dare to Hope was born out of a need to help children with rare diseases or complex medical conditions have better lives.
