Elderly Woman Assaulted in Home

An elderly woman was assaulted during a break-in at her residence in Marietta. The intruder took cash and jewelry.

 

Sunday morning, an unknown male forced entry into a residence on Hazel Street in Marietta and assaulted the elderly female homeowner, according to Marietta Police. 

The intruder made verbal threats to physically harm the homeowner if she did not cooperate and took an unknown amount of cash and jewelry, according to Marietta Police.

The homeowner was transported to and then released from Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The case remains under active investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Parker at 770-794-5380.
