Just seeing the millions of bright, multi-colored lights inviting you to the Stone Mountain Park Christmas celebration from the road or parking lot is enough to bring a smile to kids' -- and adults' -- faces.

Of course once you're inside, there's plenty to do and see, from cookie decorating to nightly shows and a parade, to the 4-D theater (The Polar Express) and of course the lovely Snow Angel, followed by fireworks.

A trip to Stone Mountain Park Christmas could be considered a decent holiday present for the family. There are different pricing packages available, including the Christmas Family Value Pass ($31.84 per person, ages 3 and up; minimum purchase of four tickets required) which includes four Stone Mountain Christmas tickets and four unlimited hot chocolates, and meal tickets. There are other Christmas pricing packages available, which include the Christmas and Snow Mountain (opening Nov. 23) combo.

A quick tip: Although there is an ATM in the Crossroads area, you might want to get cash before arriving. It's cash only to buy the marshmallows or S'mores kit at the marshmallow roasting station, for example, and there's a $2.50 transaction fee at the money machine. Just a thought.

So glad you got to experience this! It's truly a great family event and really gets you into the holiday spirit -- and it doesn't hurt that it's nice and warm to be outside and enjoy it!

Yeah, it's a little hard, or weird anyway, to get use to doing Christmas stuff when there is no snow though :) I had a lot of fun at Stone Mountain. New tradition. My mom loved the Christmas Carol play and I couldn't get over the monument and lights.
