Get Out to Tastes, Trains, a Circus, Music

Take a look at this weekend's Marietta happenings, including a concert in Glover Park, the Yaarab Shrine Circus, Junior Ranger Day and Taste of Marietta.

 

1. Prime will kick off the 2012 Glover Park Concert Series Friday, April 27, at 8 p.m. in and around the park in Marietta Square. 

Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up in the park after 4 p.m. Personal tables are not permitted in the park but may be set up on North Park Square after 6 p.m.

2. Opening April 27, the Yaarab Shrine Circus will take over the fairgrounds at Jim Miller Park.

On Thursday, April 26, the carnival will open a day early and charge $15 for unlimited rides that day. Monday through Thursday is $20 unlimited rides and Friday through Sunday is $25 unlimited rides.

3. "Trains, Trains and More Trains!" The kid in all of us can enjoy a day exploring trains with musicians, model trains, and dress-up, craft and photo stations on Saturday, National Junior Ranger Day at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. The 19th Annual Taste of Marietta is coming up Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Marietta Square. Over 80 restaurants will be showcasing their best dishes. Find out more about the activities, prices and performances that will take place at the event.
