'Hire A Hero' Career Expo in Marietta Helps Vets Find Jobs Next Week
The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The expo will be held Jan. 30 in Marietta.
A team of military resume writers from Washington, D.C. will be on hand to help the veterans prepare their resumes. And, a seminar will be conducted on personal branding and social media to help the veterans learn how to get in touch with potential employers. The Tuskegee Airmen, an historical military group, will also participate.
The expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing present and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.
Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.
Those expected to participate in the expo include: Allied Barton, Aloricares, Cobb Police Department, Columbia Southern, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Georgia College of Construction, Georgia Department of Corrections, Pawn Mart, Rollins, Inc., Sewon America, Snelling Staffing, Title Max, TRC Staffing, Trojan Battery, Tuskegee Airmen and U. S. Air Force Reserve.
The "Hire a Hero" expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW Post 2681, located at 140 Powers Ferry Rd., S.E. in Marietta. Job seekers may pre-register at online and send their resumes to firstname.lastname@example.org.
