"Hot Yoga" Heats up Marietta

Locals enjoy increased flexibility by doing yoga in a heated room at Be Yoga near the Marietta Square.

Be Yoga opened its doors on Church Street last month to the excitement of local yoga enthusiasts who are into "Hot Yoga," classes of which are available eight times a week.

The 75-minute class is done in a private room heated to a toasty 95 degrees. Regular yoga classes are in the main room maintained at 75 degrees.

Student Susie Barrett has been doing hot yoga for three years and said: "It is calming and allows more flexibility and so much more range. I feel refreshed. It takes the edge off and gets all the toxins out."

Owner Rachel Goldberg commented: "I opened the studio because I wanted to bring vinyassa yoga to Marietta and surrounding communities.Β  I practiced a hot vinyassa studio in D.C. before I moved to Atlanta, and absolutely loved it.Β  It is pure bliss.Β  Yoga purifies both the mind and body, leaves you feeling awesome on a both phyiscal and mental level.Β  Only if you have practiced yoga can you truely understand this feeling.Β  I hope to share this with as many people as possible.Β  The more yoga, the better off we all are."

Classes offered at Be Yoga include: "be introduced," "be hot," "be dynamic," "be pilates," "be gentle" and Β "be silly." View Be Yoga's Web siteΒ for current specials, class schedules and discounts.Β
