Johnston Joins Atlanta Lyric Theatre Staff

As a partner in Wolfman Productions, a Marietta-based entertainment production company, Bobby Johnston’s resources and local community involvement will add depth to the Lyric's entertainment.

Bobby Johnston has been hired as full-time production manager and technical director for the 32-year-old Atlanta Lyric Theatre, which has made the Strand Theatre on Marietta Square its performance home.

As a partner in Wolfman Productions Inc., a Marietta-based entertainment production company, Johnston’s resources and local community involvement will add new depth to the Lyric’s ability to produce quality, professional entertainment, according to the Atlanta Lyric Theatre.

Johnston has been working with the Lyric since January 2010 as the resident sound designer.

"His audio design and engineering has completely elevated the quality of our productions," said Brandt Blocker, Artistic Director and General Manager, in a news release. "Bobby has earned the respect and admiration of our entire organization through his passionate commitment to the Lyric and its productions.”

Johnston has toured with musical acts such as the Eagles, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Sugar Ray, Collective Soul and Chris Isaak.

He has also been involved in events and television shows including the Country Music Awards, the Dove Awards, the ESPY’s, the Atlanta Peach Drop, the lighting of Rich’s Great Tree (now the Macy’s Great Tree) and the Super Bowl Fan Fest.

Johnston designed for Aurora Theatre, Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre and Georgia Ensemble Theatre. He has been nominated for three Suzi Bass Theatre Awards.
