Kids, History and Trains
Cobb kids spent a day traveling from station to station and getting their "tickets" punched, earning prizes and learning about the role of trains in local, regional and national history.
The theme Saturday at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park was "Trains, Trains and More Trains!"
Kids from Marietta and the surrounding area came out to enjoy a day exploring trains with musicians, model trains, and dress-up, craft and photo stations.
"Junior Ranger Day was Amazing," Benita Duling, director of Educational Activities at the park, said of the event. "We had so many kids and families attend; the Visitor Center was overrun with people."
Kids looked at the impact of trains on the development of Atlanta, the Battle of Kennesaw and the expansion of our country.
