Labor Day Weekend Tunes

Get out and support local music in local venues.

With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. But as any Marietta music lover knows, the local scene here remains vibrant and essential. Marietta Patch is here to help you navigate it.

1.Darwins Burgers and Blues is celebrating their Grand Reopening on Thursday. The Casanovas will be playing their old school style of blues on a night of open jam, Darwin's style. Come on out and dance with Ernie.

Friday night Bobby Messano will be in town and he is always ready to throw down on some strings. He is a Grammy nominated guitarist, singer, and writer who has played on over 50 Albums. He has played with Lou Gramm, Peter Criss and Steve Winwood.

2.Hamby’s Clocktower Tavern hosts an Open Jam Night and Bike Night on Wednesdays. On Friday, Davis Daniel, an American Country Music Artist, with three studio albums and three songs making into the Top 40 Country charts, will be in Marietta's newest neighborhood hangout.

3.Johnnie MacCrackens always knows how to throw a party. Various artists perform throughout the week. Friday has Atomic Boogie to pack the place and Saturday is Joe Garner for your listening pleasure. Trisha is on the back bar for your thirsty pleasures most weekends with her own mix of Punk Rock on her radio.

 

4.Dixie Tavern is at the edge of the city limits, but don't let it keep you from going to see some fantastic music and enjoying some fun. Thursday, The Scott Little Band is taking the stage. They are Georgia natives and it shines through in their comfortable musical sounds.

Stevie Moncie on Friday and Pistoltown on Saturday. Dixie Tavern brings the jams locally.

 

5.Hemingways on the Square always rocks. Delicious food, and an outdoor patio for people watching and lots of local talent to soothe your soul. Starting Friday night,The Blind Justice Band fills the house. On Saturday night with Throttleburst. Sunday has Kristin Tinsley on the patio to get you ready for a peaceful Monday.
