Lembeck Nominated for State Award
The Marietta school chief is in the final four for Superintendent of the Year.
Marietta School Superintendent Emily Lembeck is one of four finalists for Georgia’s 2012 Superintendent of the Year.
The Georgia School Superintendents Association announced the finalists Wednesday. In addition to Lembeck, they are:
- Chris Erwin, Banks County Schools.
- L.C. “Buster” Evans, Forsyth County Schools.
- Will Schofield, Hall County Schools.
A GSSA committee picked the final four from 22 nominees, most of them submitted by their local school boards, the association said.
The finalists must complete a long American Association of School Administrators document that serves as an application for the next round of judging.
The winner will be announced Dec. 2 during the Georgia School Boards Association/GSSA Winter Conference at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel in the Galleria area of Cobb County. The state winner becomes a nominee for the national Superintendent of the Year.
