Marietta Council Seeks Input on Ward Boundaries
Redistricting is necessary to comply with the Civil Rights Act after population changes in Marietta.
Marietta City Council will present a proposed map that would recreate the boundaries of the city's seven City Council wards.
City Council will hold two public hearings at their regularly scheduled meetings on Nov. 14 and Dec. 12 to receive public feedback on the proposed map.The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. in the Council chamber located on the lobby level of City Hall, 205 Lawrence St.
The city will then send a final version of the map to the United States Department of Justice for approval. The redistricting is necessary to comply with the Civil Rights Act after population changes in Marietta.
