Marietta High Opens Ninth Grade QUEST Performance Learning Center

The QUEST PLC at Marietta High School will provide ninth grade students with an integrated online and project-based curriculum that supports student success to increase the school’s overall graduation rate.

Marietta High School (MHS) recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of its new QUEST Performance Learning Center (PLC).

The QUEST PLC at Marietta High School, in partnership with Communities in Schools through a grant from AT&T, will provide ninth grade students with an integrated online and project-based curriculum that supports student success to increase the school’s overall graduation rate.

“QUEST PLC students will benefit from the Communities In Schools philosophy to build a caring learning environment where students are challenged to meet their social and academic goals,” said Forrestella Taylor, MHS Ninth Grade Administrator. “Students are encouraged to put forth their best effort to gain all the experiences, opportunities and skills needed to graduate from high school.”

“Similar to the business-like learning environment of the Performance Learning Center at Woods-Wilkins, QUEST students must participate in a college transition and career preparatory course, as well as service learning projects,” adds Taylor. “Success will be the result of a collaborative effort between students, parent(s)/guardian(s), school personnel, and the community.”
