The Georgia Department of Labor will conduct two separate recruitments this week to help a McDonald’s restaurant and RGIS Inventory Service fill a number of jobs in Cobb County.

The first event will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, at the McDonald’s restaurant, located at 4050 Jiles Rd. in Kennesaw. Two recruiting sessions will be held: one from 8 to 11 a.m. and the other from 2 to 4 p.m.

The restaurant will be hiring workers to operate grills, take orders from customers, operate cash registers, prepare menu items, stock supplies, perform cleaning and janitorial services, and provide building maintenance.

Applicants should dress professionally and have resumes ready at the interviews. Those selected will gain experience in the foundation of the restaurant business, including hospitality, customer service, and production.

Salaries are $7.25 an hour, plus benefits.

The second recruitment will help RGIS, an inventory and data collection company, fill about 15 jobs for inventory takers. It will take place Friday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Rd. in Marietta.

Prior to the interviews, applicants should apply online at rgis.com and enter keywords 316 and 321.

Applicants must have a resume, be at least 18 years old, able to travel and stay overnight, and use a calculator or 10-key audit to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure with whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

The starting salary is $8-11 an hour, with performance-based raises.

The company will conduct background checks and drug-screening tests on selected applicants.

For additional information about the recruitments, contact the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center at (770) 528-6100.

This is excellent news that businesses are hiring. I'm pleased they are advertising and trying to reach a wide audience. May I recommend that RGIS post the location for the jobs because the reality is some people may not have transportation to get to there, so listing the location starts the process of elimination. Thank you for considering my opinion.

I just tried the RGIS website and when I put in keyword 316, I get the Florida jobs, and when I put in 321, it shows Alabama jobs. Can I get some more clarification as to what to do? I tried the DOL office, but they seem to be clueless. Thanks!

I see what you mean. If you go to the search open jobs site (https://rgisllc.taleo.net/careersection/rgis+external+career+section/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en&portal=2140490484) and click the drop box under "Location" then select United States, then Georgia, then Marietta. The positions come up that way. I hope that helps. If you have trouble let me know. Thanks!

Melissa, I did that just now. Funny, it shows the 321 when I pull up Marietta, but when I just put 321 under the "keyword", it pulls up Alabama locations. At any rate, I went through the 20+ minute application. Thanks for posting the info.
