Oscar Night Honors CFR, First Baptist Volunteer

The 2011 Oscar Night fundraising event raised more than $277,000 for the Center for Family Resources and was attended by more than 700 guests.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, the Center for Family Resources will host Atlanta’s only officially-sanctioned Oscar Night America party. During the event, the organization will present the 2012 Founders’ Award to Lynda Teague Ausburn, in recognition of decades of committed work to her community.

An annual recognition, the Center for Family Resources Founders’ Award was established to recognize a company, organization or individual who best exemplifies the work and mission of CFR as well as the spirit and vision of founders Fred Bentley, Sr., Howard Ector and Harry Holliday.

“We are thrilled to honor Lynda with our 2012 Founders’ Award,” said Jeri Barr, CEO of CFR. “She has been a true friend and supporter of the organization. She is the embodiment of what this award stands for and a true star in our eyes, so we are so proud to honor her on this night.”

Ausburn is a native Atlantan who has enjoyed a long career in property management and development. She is a partner in Walton Communities.

In addition, Lynda has enjoyed serving the community through involvement with organizations like the CFR, Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb, Parents with a Purpose, the Atlanta Youth Project, the Ferst Foundation, Cobb Senior Services, Food Security for America as well as First Baptist of Marietta.

The Oscar Night fundraiser will return to Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre with all proceeds supporting the mission and work of CFR.

The 2011 event raised more than $277,000 for CFR and was attended by more than 700 guests.

The Atlanta event is one of 50 official parties sanctioned by the Academy that will be held across the country on Oscar Night. The evening’s program will be emceed by WSB-TV’s Jovita Moore.

Co-chaired by Ron and Claire Francis and John and Robin Moore, the fundraiser marks the eleventh consecutive year the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science has given CFR the honor of hosting Atlanta’s only official Oscar party.
