Pawnshop Worker Repeatedly Stabbed
An employee at The Hock Shop was attacked Saturday morning in an attempted robbery and suffered critical wounds.
A Marietta pawnshop employee was repeatedly stabbed in a robbery attempt Saturday morning.
A man wearing a woman's long-hair wig posed as a customer, then attacked the Hock Shop employee when he turned his back after opening the front door just after 10 a.m., The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The two men struggled, and the would-be robber fled, leaving a wig and knit cap behind, WSB and CBS Atlanta report.
The wounded employee dialed 911 and was found bleeding on the floor of the store, Fox 5 reported.
The victim, who is in his late 50s, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with critical wounds but is expected to survive, thanks to his own quick actions, the AJC said.
Marietta police are not sure whether anything was taken, Fox 5 said.
The attacker is described as a black man in his 20s who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a thin build, police told various media. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt.
The attacker may have been injured during the struggle, 11 Alive reported.
