Speak Out: Is the World Ending on 12-21-12?
Some say doomsday is nearly upon us; others say we’ll be just fine. What are your thoughts on the predictions of the world ending Friday, Dec. 21?
If you believe the predictions out there, our days our numbered.
The date some have feared the approach of, Dec. 21, 2012, is now a week away. Supposedly, it’s the day that will see the occurrence of a cataclysmic event, or perhaps even the end of the world, as predicted by the Mayan calendar.
Many say otherwise, saying the sun will rise again on Saturday, Dec. 22. Among those denying the end of the world are scientists at NASA, who have created a page focused on “Why the World Won’t End.”
“Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012,” NASA officials write, going on to denounce theories such as a supposed planet heading toward Earth, a planetary alignment of epic proportions, a reversal of our planet’s rotation and more.
But on the flip side, the Weekly World News claims that the end of the world has been confirmed. Their report claims a recent discovery of hieroglyphics clearly state an end date for the world—next Friday.
Who are you going to believe?
We want to know if you think this talk of the world is fact, or fiction.
Do you believe the world is going to end on Dec. 21, 2012? If so, how will it happen? Tell us in the comments.

Matthew 24:36-37:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

God told me we're gonna be just fine; also, my birthday is Dec. 20th so just in case God's kidding me and it really DOES all come to an end on the 21st, it only means that I'll get to be 70 for one day and then the whole world explodes in CELEBRATION !!!!! YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

I'll probably get blasted for saying this (for the record, I believe in God), but not everyone believes in God, so quoting a scripture written by a man that may or may not be an interpretation of what was or wasn't said for one way of one belief is irrelevant to prove anything to a skeptic..
Having said that, it is also pompous and very audacious of someone to think they "know" the exact time of the demise of our planet, considering we know enough about the planet and our galaxy to fit on the head of a pin, with room to spare.
Countless predictions and visions throughout the course of our known history have and have failed to come true. Live your life to the fullest of your ability and make peace with your God or spiritual being daily and you don't have a thing to worry about

Not blasting you, but it does sound like you are bit of a skeptic yourself ..
"make peace with your God or spiritual being" ???? There is only ONE GOD...

My point was in your opinion, as is my opinion, there is only one God and chances are, we both believe in Him, although how we both arrive at that opinion might be two different highways..Within the "Christian" belief there are 100's of various denominations, each with their own little tweaks, and interpretations of His Word, and various rules and versions, right or wrong.
But for the rest of the country and the world, there are various other beliefs. I'm not Muslim, I'm not Buddhist, I'm not <fill in the blank>, but I am sensitive to that, so I won't condemn someone for not believing exactly as I do, nor would I judge them as less than me. I am evolved enough to be ok with someone just believing, and not judging how because they don't believe exactly what I believe.

Um Weekly World News is the same news provider that publishes stuff about Batboy all the time. They're also the same news provider that posted that Casey Anthony was adopting a baby, so....yeah.

When I was in middle school, I'm 26 now, we had to watch a movie on the Mayans. This was brought up in the film, and has scared the crap out of me for a long time. Though I know it's baloney, the thought is still in my head "what if?". Some people are seriously scared, though. I think I read that a teen girl took her own life because of it.

Joshua,
One thing to keep in mind is that if something is totally beyond your control then it stands to reason that there's absolutely NOTHING you can do about it so worrying/fretting is of absolutely no use...., so stop wasting your time. Instead, do something that you CAN do something about and start supporting measures to get rid of these ridiculous automatic guns that are enabling blithering idiots to waste little babies.
