Although the numbers aren’t official yet, Southern Polytechnic State University’s student enrollment is now at 5,781, which includes 1,243 new undergraduate students, according to a press release.

The number of SPSU students who identify themselves as non-Caucasian increased to 45.3 percent this fall from 44.3 percent last fall, according to the Office of Institutional Research.

Hispanic student enrollment has grown by 8 percent over the last year, and the number of black students is up 10 percent.

The most popular majors among SPSU students this fall are: architecture, mechanical engineering technology, computer science, mechanical engineering, information technology, construction management, electrical engineering technology, business administration, mechatronics engineering and electrical engineering.
