Students Place in District Poster Contest
The 2011 Bus Safety Poster Contest theme was "I See The Driver—The Driver Sees Me!"
Three Marietta City Schools students placed first for district-level honors in the 2011 Georgia School Bus Safety Poster contest.
The 2011 Bus Safety Poster contest theme was "I See The Driver—The Driver Sees Me!"
Posters submitted for the contest had to be original in theme and correct in the safety concept. Judging criteria included relation to school bus safety practices, originality, artwork, execution and visual impact.
Winners include:
- Division I (Kindergarten through second grade): Amy Vi Ho of Park Street Elementary;
- Division II (Third through fifth grade): Yarely Benitez of Lockheed Elementary; and
- Division III (Sixth through eighth grade): Juan Marquez of Marietta Sixth Grade Academy.
Others who placed include:
Division I:
- Merlin Herrera of Park Street Elementary, second place;
- Khalela Morris of Sawyer Road Elementary, third place;
- and Daniela Diaz of Park Street Elementary, honorable mention
Division II:
- Michael Munoz of Lockheed Elementary, second place;
- Sumaiyya Khan of Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, third place; and
- Estephanie Bravo of Sawyer Road Elementary, honorable mention
Division III:
- Lana Cross of Marietta Middle School, second place;
- Maggie Garrett of Marietta Middle School, third place; and
- Eliott Gardy of Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, honorable mention
