Teen Suspected in Cobb Burglaries
Marietta police think Cory Cannon, arrested on Friday in the Franklin Road area, may be responsible for similar incidents.
A 17-year-old arrested for burglary on Friday in the Franklin Road area may be a suspect in other burglaries in Cobb.
The Marietta Daily Journal reported Wednesday that investigators have described Cory Jaleel Cannon as "a person of interest" in other burglaries in Marietta and Cobb. The story said police did not detail how many incidents may be involved, only that "additional charges are pending."
WSB-TV reported that Cannon is a suspect in at least one burglary committed last September, but did not indicate where that incident took place.
According to his booking report, Cannon was charged on Friday with one count of burglary, one count of obstruction of an officer, and one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
The MDJ report said police were called to the Westbury Park Apartments, 1295 Franklin Drive, by a resident who reported a male trying to kick down his door. After a foot pursuit, police discovered jewelry and a laptop computer in a backpack in Cannon's possession.
Booking information lists Cannon's nearby home address as 720 Franklin Road, in the Ridge Pointe Apartments.
