Type, Language, Words in Marietta Art

Freedom of Type, a group exhibit of paintings and prints with type, will be on display at 2 Rules Fine Art on Marietta Square with three on-site printmaking demonstrations by Marietta artist Pedro Gonzalez.

A group exhibit featuring eight artists whose works incorporate type, language, and words as a creative element in their art will be on display at

The term “typography” refers to the design of type, letters and/or other forms of written or printed language, and the arrangement of those forms into meaningful compositions. As such, the art of typography is closely associated with the art of printmaking and graphic design.

The exhibit celebrates the letterform as both a symbol of communication and as an aesthetic shape unto itself.
