A case of irony: In six years working for CNN—an international news organization—I never traveled more than two miles from the Atlanta headquarters on company business. Roughly 65.7 percent of my conversations over the past month have involved introducing myself as the editor of the now three-day-old Marietta Patch and then providing as succinct an explanation as possible about the name "Patch" and exactly what we intend to offer Marietta residents and businesses. When I get a cocked eye or confused look about the name, I'm not offended. I had a similar perhaps more extreme reaction when first I heard the name "Patch" some months ago.
