“People underestimate the power of what Toastmasters International offers in terms of developing their communication skills” states Kamara, “Participating in Toastmasters has done great things in my life personally and professionally since I have become a member in 2008.  Toastmasters is not only a leadership development organization it helps you to develop your communication skills as well.”

Janice Andrews, the District Governor of District 44 comments “…we all have a voice… and you want to find a way to energize your voice.”    She went on to encourage the audience to, “Find the confidence to speak and clearly articulate what you want to say and to give your story…and as you go through our communication modules at our meetings to gain skills you will also learn how to be great leaders.”

Andrews also stresses, “Leadership is not about being a leader in a position as … you can be a leader in your own sphere of influence….. It’s about developing the core competencies of leadership like discipline, effective listening, and organizational skills. You will be gaining all of these skills while developing communication skills which will in turn help you to be the best that you can be.”
