Study Session Video Invites—A College Student’s New Tool

Students all over moved into their residence halls (or apartments) this week. With classes starting, it’s time to think about study groups. I remember those days as undergrad. The texts, the before and after class gab sessions before we went to our next class. Those were the days.

Now, students have more sophisticated options for organizing study sessions. You have Facebook (Facebook Events, Groups), Google+ Hangouts, and of course—texts. But students have a new option for organizing study sessions.

It’s called Inwiter. You can create video invitations in a couple minutes and send via email and social networks in a couple of minutes. Take a group picture ahead of time and take a picture of your textbook or syllabus. Then upload to inwiter.com and create your video invitation. If you want, record a video of a section of class and use that. Once everything is uploaded, add the details of your study session, add group member emails, and that’s it. You can manage RSVPs on inwter.com.  It’s a fun option for students to make boring old study sessions more fun.
