Celebrate 150th Anniversary of Civil War with Premiere of 'Kennesaw: One Last Mountain'

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and the Battles of Marietta 150th committee present the premiere of the new movie "Kennesaw: One Last Mountain".

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and the Battles of Marietta 150th committee present the premiere of the new movie "Kennesaw: One Last Mountain" Sept. 22 at the Strand Theatre, 117 North Park Square. 

This will be the first showing of the new movie created by the National Park Service for the Battlefield's Visitor's Center.

It includes recreations of the battles around Kennesaw Mountain and Marietta and is narrated by the well-known actor of more than 100 films, Emmy-winning narrator Peter Coyote.

Concessions will open at 6:30 p.m. with Civil War artifacts on display in the lobby and on the fourth floor. Live period music will be played by local musicians and a performance on the Strand organ by Marietta's own Ron Carter.

At 7:30 p.m. the program will begin with introductions and a presentation of the history of the battlefield by national park historians. The movie will then be shown. The movie is 35 minutes long.

Tickets are $8.
