Cobb County libraries have many family-friendly events planned around the county in February to celebrate African American History Month.

  • African American History Month Film Festival (West Cobb Regional Library, 1750 Dennis Kemp Lane, Kennesaw)
    • 3 p.m., Feb. 2: Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (G)
    • 3 p.m., Feb. 9: Joyful Noise (PG-13)
    • 3 p.m., Feb. 16: Men in Black III (PG-13)
    • 3 p.m., Feb. 23: The Help (PG-13)
  • Third Annual African American History Month Celebration (Central Library, 266 Roswell St., Marietta)
    • 2 p.m., Feb. 9: Performers include Ravan Durr, the AL Burruss Unity Drummers, Rev. Cassandra Marcus and the South Cobb High School Platinum Steppers.
  • African American Heritage film series (Central Library, 266 Roswell St., Marietta)
    • 5:30 p.m., Feb. 11: Hallelujah!
    • 6 p.m., Feb. 18: Jackie Robinson Story
    • 5:30 p.m., Feb. 25: Their Eyes Were Watching God

    • 3:30 p.m., Feb. 20: Special program celebrating with books, songs and music. Ages 5 and older.

    • 3:30 p.m., Feb. 27: Enjoy African American folktales and stories, songs, a short film and craft. Ages 3 and older.
