Cobb Libraries Offer Activities for Kids, Teens in December

Activities include anime, handwriting and fun reading comprehension.

From anime and handwriting to art and young adult books, Cobb Libraries offer a variety of activities for children and teens to enjoy in December.

The Anime Club at East Cobb Library meets Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Grades 6 and up can enjoy a new anime title each month, and snacks are provided. For information, call (770) 509-2730.

Rockin' Readers at Powder Springs Library meets Wednesdays in December (12/4-12/18), 4 to 5 p.m. The program for ages 4-10 enhances reading comprehension skills through music, art, reading and play. For information, call (770) 439-3600. 

The Handwriting Club meets at Gritters Library on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 4 to 5 p.m. Ages 7-12 can practice cursive writing and calligraphy. For information, call (770) 528-2524.

Computer Tuesday at South Cobb Regional Library meets Tuesday, December 10, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Teens can relax, socialize or work while using the library's laptops. Participants will need to bring their own pen drives to save or print their work. For information, call (678) 398-5828.

Read It Before You Watch It Teen Book Club meets Saturday, Dec. 14, 3 to 4 p.m., at the Switzer Library to discuss "The Hobbit." The club for middle and high school students explores young adult books released as movies. For information, call (770) 528-2338.

Kaleidoscope Art Animals meets at Powder Springs Library on Thursday, Dec. 12, 4 to 5 p.m. The program is an intense art workshop for creative children. For information, call (770) 439-3600.
