Erin Go Bragh in Marietta!

Irish eyes are smiling today, so we have put together a list of some of Marietta's

We are not sure where the tradition of pinching non-green wearers originated, but Marietta Patch does not have to worry. We always wear green! And in case you're keeping score, we are a little early with our Patch Picks today so that our readers can take full advantage of St. Patrick's Day.

With no further delays, here's a list (and as always, not necessarily the definitive list. Please add your suggestions in the comments!)

1. . An easy, obvious pick for Marietta since the words "Celtic Pub" are in its name, and owner Gary Leake opened it in honor of his father Henry Grady Leake, who was of Scots Irish ancestry. Of course, there's the smoky Celtic feel of the pub and the selection of Irish beers and drinks.

The pub mascot, Johnnie MacCracken, stands as a symbol of Celtic values with the motto: "I believe in truth, honor, justice. My word's my bond, I say." The pub itself operates within the oldest standing fire station in Cobb County, the former Marietta Engine Company No. 1.

Oh, for St. Patrick's Day itself, the bar starts its party at 10 a.m. and well into the night, featuring an Irish sampler plate, a commerative T-shirt and four bands. Plus, Leake plans to introduce the new next door.

2. , 1355 Roswell Road, Suite 210. This huge pool hall goes green for the day and offers a special St. Paddy's event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Marietta Billiard Club is offering $2 Budweiser and Bud Lite drafts (in green form) as well as $7.50 Irish Car Bombs and $4 UV Bombs.

As always, the club on Thursdays offers beer pong and 20 percent discounts for military personnel and 10 percent off for college students.

3. , 2145 Roswell Road, is holding a special party with The Border Collies, which calls themselves Atlanta's best Irish Band. The restaurant will have specials on Guinness, Smithwicks and Harp as well as Irish Car Bombs and Irish food.

4. , 3205 Canton Road. This neighborhood pub specializes in hot wings, karaoke, Irish dancing and pool... perfect for a St. Patty's event. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. and continue until as late as legally possible.

5. Fans of Irish dancing must know about the Mulligan School of Irish Dance. Based in Marietta, the school and owner Eileen Mulligan Evans has been teaching the art in Atlanta for more than 30 years. Evans has certification from An Coimisium Le Rinci Gaelacha in Ireland, has received the Gael of the Year Award from Atlanta and has served as honorary grand marshal of Atlanta's St. Patrick's Day Parade.

For today, Mulligan School students will perform at the Our Lady of Perpetual Hope Church in Atlanta and the Irish Bred Pub in Douglasville.
