First Friday Art Walk Continues Sept. 6

The First Friday Art Walk in Historic Downtown Marietta will continue on Friday, Sept. 6.

Held the first Friday of the month, April-October, Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour through Marietta’s diverse art scene. Art galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants and boutiques host artists within their stores and are open 5 to 9 p.m.

Live music performances have been added to the event and can be found at the Tavern in the gARTen and other sidewalk locations throughout the Square.

Maps of the venues are available at each participating merchant, the Marietta Visitors Bureau, at the Art Walk signs throughout the Square, from the Art Walk Ambassadors and online.

The Tavern in the gARTen, a beer and wine garden is the newest feature of the Art Walk.  At the Tavern in the gARTen, guests can purchase cold beverages, sit and enjoy live music, and watch art come alive in Atherton Square.

Featured musical performers at the gARTen this month will be the Big Chicken Chorus and blues singer “Peachy” Pyron (www.peachypyron.com.)
