Fourth Annual Diaper Day on Marietta Square

Low-income families often have the daily stress of choosing between food and diapers.

The Cobb Diaper Day Committee will hold its fourth annual collection of diapers for families in need in Glover Park on Marietta Square on Oct. 29. In the past residents have donated 120,000 diapers.

Local nonprofit agencies can only dispense diapers four times a year because of limited resources.

In these tough economic times, families in need face the facts that:

  • Food stamps do not include hygiene products such as diapers;
  • On average, the cost to purchase diapers is approximately $100 per month;
  • Day care centers require parents to provide their own diapers; and
  • Local nonprofits can dispense diapers only four times a year.

Diapers can be donated at a community-wide diaper collection at 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 29 at Glover Park on the Marietta Square. For more information visit www.cobbdiaperday.com.
