Fourth of July Offers Great Deals for Marietta Families

Marietta Patch provides a selection of great bargains for the whole family each Wednesday morning.

Summer Concert Series: Hotel California (and Fireworks) July 3 The Depot in Downtown Kennesaw, 2828 Cherokee St., is offering a free concert on Sunday The City of Kennesaw's popular open-air concert series in 2011 will feature "a tribute to legends" with musical acts honoring performers ranging from Elton John and Billy Joel to the Eagles and Doobie Brothers. Acworth 4th of July Fireworks Celebration. Begins approximately at 9:30 p.m. at Cauble Park on Monday. The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. Local bands will take the stage beginning at 4 p.m. with headliners Flashback at 8 p.m. with fireworks beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. It's suggested to park downtown and take a shuttle to the park. This is a free shuttle service. A limited amount of tables are available for purchase. For information about this free event, call 770-917-1234.

Patriotic Concert and Fireworks! Mount Paran North Church is offering this free event at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks and patriotic music featuring the Georgia Symphony Orchestra. For information, call 770-429-7016 or go to georgiasymphony.org.

The Marietta Freedom Parade 2011 -- The City of Marietta's Fourth in the Park celebration begins at 10 a.m. Monday and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale. The whole event includes 110 entries, 2,000 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators. Fireworks start at dark.
