Got a new computer, e-Reader or other digital device? Various Cobb County Public Library System branches offer introductory classes on using computers, downloading e-books, and more for patrons seeking to enhance computer skills.
The classes are free. Registration is required unless stated otherwise.

- Tuesday, January 8: Email for Beginners, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Central Library. Registration required; please register online or by calling (770) 528-2320.
- Tuesday, January 8: Computer Basics, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., East Cobb Library. Registration required; please register online or by calling (770) 509-2730.
- Wednesday, January 9: Microsoft Word for Beginners, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Central Library. Registration required; please register online or by calling (770) 528-2320.
- Thursday, January 10: Internet Basics Class, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., East Cobb Library. Registration required. Prerequisite for this class: Computer Basics. To register and for more information, click here or call (770) 509-2730.
- Saturday, January 12: Advanced Microsoft Word, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Central Library. Registration required; please register online or by calling (770) 528-2320.

- Tuesday, January 22: Computer Basics, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Mountain View Regional Library. Registration is required and space is limited.
- Tuesday, January 22: Internet for Beginners, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Central Library. Registration is required; please register online or by calling (770) 528-2320.
eReader classes:
- Tuesday, January 8: Using your new Kindle and Nook - e-Readers for Seniors, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Powder Springs Library. Registration requested, but not required. To register, please call (770) 439-3600.
- Wednesday, January 9: Free eBooks from OverDrive, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., East Cobb Library. This step-by-step hands-on training will teach you how to download free ebooks from the library's Overdrive website. Participants should bring the following to the class: valid library card number and PIN; Amazon account information (for Kindle users); and a USB cord (for eReaders). Registration required; please register online or by calling (770) 509-2730.
- Tuesday, January 15: Getting Started with Downloadable Library Books for your Nook or Kindle, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., South Cobb Regional Library. Please register online.
- Tuesday, January 22: Downloading ebooks to your iPad, noon to 1 p.m., Mountain View Regional Library. Please bring your iPad, valid library card number and PIN. Registration is required; please register online.
- Wednesday, January 23: Downloading e-books to your Kindle, noon to 1 p.m., Mountain View Regional Library. Please bring your Kindle, valid library card number and PIN. Registration is required.
- Thursday, January 24: Downloading ebooks to your Nook, noon to 1 p.m., Mountain View Regional Library. Please bring your Nook, valid library card number and PIN. Registration is required.
