Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And awareness of this deadly disease needs raising: According to statistics at BreastCancer.org, about 1 in 8 women in the United States (12 percent) will develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime.

Breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any cancer among American women other than lung cancer.

We can raise awareness through boosting visibility and by sharing our breast-cancer-related stories.

The pink ribbon has become the symbol for breast cancer awareness, so let your neighbors see you wear it: Wear a pink ribbon and snap a photo of yourself with it, or wear it and introduce yourself on video.
