Good Garage Sales Galore

It's not too late to pick up some great bargains near Marietta.

It's not too late to grab a friend and embark on a fun-filled day of sale hopping:

  • Charity garage sale benefiting Habitat for Humanity sponsored by the Covenant Churches of East Cobb (, Mt. Zion United Methodist, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and ). There will be furniture, books, toys, kitchenware, home accessories, tools, baby items, clothing and shoes for sale. The sale started Friday but continues through 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Rd. For more information, call 770-977-0587.
  • Kingsgate Subdivision, 158 Nocatee Trail in The Glen neighborhood, 1.5 miles north of the intersection of Trickum Road and Highway 92, Woodstock. Cash only. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 770-591-7892.
  • This is "the garage sale to end all garage sales," the homeowner says. Old computer equipment, books, electronics, toys, tools, furniture, building materials, knickknacks, paddy wacks, backpacks and thumb tacks. China, crystal and dishes. If you want it, this sale probably has it. You need a 20-foot ladder? There's one at the sale. Air compressor? Got it. Dry wall? Got it. Ladybug umbrella? Got it. Late '80s synthesizer keyboard? Got it. Kids golf clubs? Got them. Waterford china place settings? Got them. Drill or jigsaw? Got it. Pneumatic nail gun? Got it. Old novels? Got 'em. Need a desk? Heck, there are three. The sale continues through 3 p.m. Saturday at 3314 Ethan Dr.
  • A Marietta estate sale features a 60-plus-year collection of antiques, vintage, collectibles and quality household items. Being offered are antique tables, chairs, mirrors, rugs, leather chair with ottoman, vintage tables, porch and garden items, walking canes, tools, golf clubs, lawn tools, dishes, English smalls, books, barware, kitchen items, train set buildings, scale model airplanes, and much more. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash only. 824 Crossfire Ct., Hardage Farm subdivision.
  • Graduation garage sale. Dorm stuff: futon, small and large papasan chairs, desk, several lamps, rugs, coffee table and more. A 1982 Honda moped is $200. There's a large selection of books priced from 50 cents to $2, plus several hundred more higher-priced books in a personal collection (mostly nonfiction: science, psychology, spirituality, philosophy).
