Jenkins to Retire from Marietta Visitors Bureau

Theresa Jenkins, Executive Director of the Marietta Visitors Bureau, retires as the longest serving convention & visitor bureau director in Georgia.

Theresa Jenkins, Executive Director of the Marietta Visitors Bureau, is set to retire on June 28. 

She retires as the longest serving convention & visitor bureau director in Georgia.  She steps down with a long list of accomplishments including Tourism Leader of the Year for Georgia and the Dorothy Hardman Award from Southeast Tourism Society (the highest honor a member can earn)

“In looking back over my career, I’m excited to see how tourism has impacted our city,” said Jenkins. “I’ve loved every minute I’ve spent selling Marietta to the world and feel honored that you have allowed me to do it for 29 years.”

The City of Marietta honored Jenkins with the Key to the City and named June 14 – Theresa Jenkins Day.   

Jenkins plans to spend more time with family, including her year-old granddaughter, but still plans to be involved in Marietta activities. She will co-chair the 2013 Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour.
