The Marietta Council of Garden Clubs introduces its 2012 series of Horticulture Workshops.

Do you love to garden but are disappointed with your results? Maybe you’re a beginner and lack basic knowledge, or an experienced gardener looking for more challenging projects. Then this workshop series may be for you.

The Marietta Council of Garden Clubs introduces its 2012 series of Horticulture Workshops. 

Each workshop will include a presentation by one to three presenters that specialize in the specific topic either well known or professional.

The Saturday workshops begin at the at 8:30 a.m. for registration. From 9 to 11 a.m. there is a formal presentation, followed by a break for lunch and then a private tour of a local garden or nursery. 

Feb. 8, Rita Bissell and Tracy Minjauw, members of the Chattahoochee Unit of the Herb Society of America, will talk about Floral and Culinary Herbs. A tour of the Historic Gardens/Home of the will follow the presentation.

March 24, the speaker will be Jim Rodgers, nursery owner and plant propagator of Nearly Native Nursery. A tour of the Nearly Native Nursery follows.   

April 28: Annuals and Container Gardening.

May 19: Shade and Sun Perennials.
