LEGOLAND Completes World Record Attempt

More than 30 local children, Lego Master Builders and members of Atlanta Dream participated in the record attempt Thursday morning.

At 7 a.m. on Thursday, 33 children gathered at LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza to build Lego Christmas trains in an attempt to set the world record for largest toy-building workshop.

All eight locations worldwide, including the Phipps Plaza attraction, simultaneously held Model Builder Workshops Thursday in honor of Guinness World Record Day.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta Model Builders helped the 33 local children each build a festive 82-brick, red and green Christmas Train made from the famous bricks.

Armintie Price and Lindsey Harding from the Atlanta Dream were the official timekeepers for the event, which took approximately an hour.

LEGOLAND won't know if they have officially set the record until after submitting proper documentation of the event to the Guinness World Records office, which will officially declare the world record.
