Marietta Artists Hit the Square

Marietta Square Artists Market debuts in tandem with second Farmers Market of year.

Despite a hint of wet weather that quickly gave way to a bright, beaming sun, the inaugural Marietta Square Artists Market this morning debuted in fine arts fashion.

Set to operate every second Saturday of the month in tandem with the Marietta Square Farmers Market, the Artist Market runs from 9 a.m. to noon and features a select gathering of Marietta and area artists.

Gallery owner Donna Krueger, who serves as president of The Branding Project that sponsored the event, said they hope the market evolves to where it features young artists and students seeking experience in the entrepreneurial side of art. The market was juried to feature fine art, although art on display ranged from jewelry to folk art to photography to painting.
