Marietta, Cobb Road Work: Aug. 5-9

Here are the latest updates on road work being done around Marietta and Cobb County, according to the Cobb Department of Transportation.

Barrett Parkway (Burnt Hickory Road to US 41): Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect periodic lane closures northbound between Burnt Hickory Road and Cobb Parkway (US 41) with two lanes remaining open as the contractor performs grading operations, wall construction and signal work. 

Barrett Parkway at Home Center Drive Construction: Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect intermittent lane closure at this intersection with at least one lane remaining open as the contractor continues clearing operations, erosion control and grading. 

Jiles Road: Cobb Parkway to CSX Railroad Bridge: Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect intermittent lane closures with one lane remaining open, while the contractor performs punch list work including concrete work, signs and water.

John Ward Road Sidewalk Construction: Brookmont Trace to Arbor Forest Drive, Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect intermittent lane closures. The contractor will continue grading and placing sod.

Dallas Highway (SR120) Resurfacing – GDOT

Georgia Department of Transportation is resurfacing SR120 from the Paulding County Line to John Ward Road. Most work will take place at night. The project is scheduled to be completed in December.

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled this week on the following roads: 

• Night Work – Barrett Parkway from Dallas Highway to Burnt Hickory Road 
• Night Work – Barrett Lakes Boulevard from Barrett Parkway to Chastain Road 
• Night Work – Busbee Parkway from Wade Green Road to LA Fitness Driveway
• Night Work – Church Street Extension from Old Highway 41 to Canton Road Connector
• Night Work – Duncan Road from McCollum Parkway to Barrett Lakes Boulevard
