Marietta Square Farmers Market Opens 2011 Season

Hundreds of area food and market lovers descend upon the north side of Marietta Square when the popular Farmers Market returned this morning.

After a week of rainy, wet weather, the sun burst forth and basked Marietta Square in bright light as if to herald the return of one of the city's most popular events: the Marietta Square Farmers Market.

As promised, the market "opened no later than 9 a.m.," and hundreds of residents from all over Cobb County and beyond explored 2011's first offerings of fresh, locally grown produce and garden products. The market will be open every Saturday morning until noon through November.
