Marietta Music Scene: Time Changes

Get out and enjoy an extra hour of music as time fall's back this weekend.

With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. But as any music lover knows, the local scene here remains vibrant and essential. Marietta Patch is here to help you navigate it.

1. Dixie Tavern will be rocking this weekend. Thursday night The Dirt Poets hit it hard and loud on stage for the masses. Friday night, the hard hitting continues with Asphalt Grunge. A $10 cover to float in with members of the Nation of Smooth on Saturday, Yacht Rock Schooner sails into town for your polyester and dancing pleasure.

2. The Big Chicken just may hear the singing floating up from Powers Ferry Road from Faces Lounge. Karaoke on Wednesday through Saturday nights. This place is classic and lots of fun, take the songs you taught yourself in the shower onto the stage. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday.

3. Brewsters Neighborhood Bar and Grille has four-man band Fugm for your Friday night fun, 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Spirit Karaoke is on Sunday from 7 to 11 p.m.

4. on the Historic Marietta Square has a weekend of 7 Sharp Nine on stage for your night time entertainment, Friday and Saturday starting at 9 p.m.

5. Marietta Wild Wing Cafe not only has a large variety of beer, but they also offer variety in their musical performers as well.

Ocean Street has deep roots in local music but is a national touring band. Come out and welcome these guys home Friday night.

The mullet is back. Iron Mullet celebrates all the glory of a time many of us remember fondly—big hair, denim jackets with your favorite rock band sewn on, leather pants, chains a hanging. Come out and rock to your favorite hard rock and metal tunes Saturday night at 9:30 p.m.
