Marietta Music Scene: Change of Weather

Put on your boots and sweaters and rock.

With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. But as any Marietta music lover knows, the local scene here remains vibrant and essential. Marietta Patch is here to help you navigate it.

1. The North Georgia State Fair celebrates opening day on Thursday. Regional musicians play to a space that can seat 7,500 under a covered arena. Concerts are free with paid admission to the park.

Monday at 8 p.m.: Pebblebrook School of the Performing Arts- Company 2012; and

Wednesday at 8 p.m.: Chris Young.

2. Hamby's Clocktower Tavern is Marietta's newest musical house. Come let out your inner voice through Tuesday night karaoke. Wednesday's are host to a growing Bike Night and an acoustic open jam.

Thursday Barry and Mike of The Mike Veal Band will be in house strumming and singing some of your favorite tunes.

Friday gets the weekend started with The Strange Weather Band. Saturday come get schooled in the blues. Sana and her band take the floor and have a special guest trombone player on hand, Lil' Joe from Chicago. Make sure you have on your comfy shoes, dancing is expected.

3. Wild Wings Marietta knows how to throw a party. Friday night, Departure—A Journey Tribute Band is in house. Bring your favorite cuddly friend and dance the night away.

Saturday is the  6th annual Oktoberfest Village Party. Live German music all day with Steins of Oktoberfest beer, bratwurst, knockwurst, pretzels and more. Late night 80's headbanging music with Mad Margritt.

4. Darwins Burgers and Blues has been packing the place since the remodel and reopening. Thursdays are home to open blues jam. Come lay it down or just come crowd watch; you will be amazed at the talent that fills this venue.

Friday, the Casanovas keep the blues rolling. On Saturday, Marietta's own The Holliday Brothers will be juking it out.

5. Cobb Energy Performing Arts is going to be rocking with two upcoming Wilco shows with guest Nick Lowe. Shows on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 28 and 29. Incredible song writing skills and musical talent define these guys. Click here quickly to purchase available tickets.
