Marietta Racers Gather for Annual Soap Box Derby

The Marietta Kiwanis Club has been hosting the Marietta Soap Box Derby locally since 2004, restoring a decades-old tradition of building the cars and racing them. Families, youth, business leaders and friends all work together to bring such a fun event that involves hard work to Marietta.

For two days, racers and others braved the heat to participate. The derby required the use of real life skills of team work, perseverance, love of country and community as well as listening to others and learning to play by the rules.
