Here are the latest updates on road work being done around Marietta and Cobb County, according to the Cobb Department of Transportation.

Barrett Parkway Construction

Barrett Parkway has three lanes of traffic open in each direction.

Barrett Parkway (Burnt Hickory Road to US 41): Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27: Expect periodic lane closures northbound 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Burnt Hickory Road and Cobb Parkway (US 41) with two lanes remaining open as the contractor performs grading operations, wall construction, signal work and final roadway striping.

Barrett Parkway at Home Center Drive: Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27: Expect intermittent lane closure 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at this intersection with at least one lane remaining one while the contractor continues clearing operations, grading and placing concrete. 

Jiles Road Construction

Cobb Parkway to CSX Railroad Bridge: Monday, Sept. 23, throughFriday, Sept. 27: Expect intermittent lane closure 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor performs punch list work including grassing, traffic signals and water system items.

Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled next week on the following roads: 

  • Cheatham Hill Road from Powder Springs Road to John Ward Road
  • Old Stilesboro Road from Acworth Due West Road to Mars HIll Road
